about Teresita Hernandez DDS

Teresita de Jesús Hernández Tello DDS, was born and raised in Merida the capital of the Yucatan Peninsula. She graduated with honors from dental school at Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan in 2004.


She has won several honors and awards including a Procter & Gamble scholarship to spend a summer in dental research methods at the University of Washington the same year of her graduation from dental school. Then, as both of her parents are dental specialists and former university Professors, she spent two years working at the family dental office. In 2006 she left the Yucatan state to study her three year program of specialty in prosthodontics, at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center, in the city of Rochester, New York.


Upon her return to Mexico she completed a diploma in CAD-CAM implantology at the Faculty of Dentistry at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City. She moved back to Merida in the summer of 2010 and she spent another year working at the dental family office. Finally in the autumn of 2011 she opened along with her brother, who is a certified orthodontics specialist, their own dental office named Dental Studio Merida Especialistas, where you can find in a modern and relaxing atmosphere all the dental specialties in one place, including endodontics, periodontics, pediatric dentistry and oral surgery.


In 2012 she obtained her certification as a dental specialist in prosthodontics by the Mexican Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Rehabilitation, she is as well certified as Dental Surgeon in General Dentistry by the Mexican Dental Association since 2004.


Currently, she lectures nationally for the Mexican Dental Association and she is a University teacher for undergraduate and graduate students at the Faculty of Dentistry at Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan. She holds several international, national and local academic memberships, among which are: Academy of Osseointegration, International Team of Implantology, Mexican Dental Association and Yucatecan Dental Association, in which she has been in charge of the scientific committee and currently holds the position of Vicepresident.
